Avi Federgreen’s Indiecan Entertainment has picked up the Canadian distribution rights to writer/director Jeremy LaLonde’s ensemble comedy Sex After Kids, ahead of its Santa Barbara International Film Festival bow.
“It’s a great fit for Indiecan’s unconventional approach to marketing and P&A,” said Federgreen, who will see the feature make its way across the festival circuit ahead of a theatrical release in early 2014.
The distributor has acquired Canadian distribution rights to Jeremy LaLonde’s sophomore feature ahead of its world premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Jan 26.
Indiecan plans a festival roll-out before Canadian distribution in 2014.
The ensemble comedy stars Kristin Booth, Amanda Brugel, Ennis Esmer, Kate Hewlett, Kris Holden-Ried, Peter Keleghan, Mimi Kuzyk, Zoie Palmer and Gordon Pinsent.

The indie comedy about seduction after parenthood, which is shooting in Toronto through the summer, also stars Shannon Beckner, Katie Boland, Zoie Palmer and David Tompa.
Sex After Kids is an ensemble romantic comedy based in Toronto about what happens when you’re too tired, uninterested, or annoyed to seduce the person you love, loathe, or haven’t even met yet. If you’ve got children, plan on having them, just got rid of them, or want nothing to do with them, this is the film for you. No one can promise that watching it will help with any post-child sexual frustration that you may have, but it will sure help you laugh about it knowing that others share in your pain. With the writing and directing talents of Jeremy LaLonde (writer and director of The Untitled Work of Paul Shepard), coupled with a cast that includes some of Canada’s best-loved performers of stage and screen, Sex After Kids is on track to become an instant comedy classic.
